Paul, funny you say that. Danny (the machinist) is spraying it white when he returns from holiday.

What can I say other than "wow"? I'd love some gear like that, if only I had the floor to hold the weight - or the space for it - or the funds to buy it, lol. Doubt I'd fit one of those in the shed as it stands.
Got to echo Paul's wishes that you may have the work to keep it busy.
Cheers
Neil

I don't know, you read the forums, chat to a few people buy a few machines and you feel happy with the the world. Sure a couple of machines are missing or could be upgraded. Then, this happens. It changes everything! The bar has been raised. Lovely stuff Lynx, what you making? I guess ..... jewelry boxes?

I wish I had the floorspace in my workshop that your panel saw takes up on it's own Very nice lynx. Good luck with the new machines, workshop and venture. Davy

Thanks people. Had a good play on the saw today. Needs a little adjusting but was cutting 60mm mdf lovely.
What will we be making, hmm. Anything really. Just pricing up for a kitchen, doors and windows to an orangery, snooker room panelling and bedroom furniture.
Now looking at the unit next door so we can have a veneering and spraying section in the future

Paul, funny you say that. Danny (the machinist) is spraying it white when he returns from holiday. Hi Lynx, you do realise that the colour white used on Axminster (tm) Woodworking Machinery is trademarked?? I can only hope for your sake that the colour you are proposing is like a 'barley white' or 'white with a hint of subtle powerfeed'? Sueing individuals over their powerfeed colour was a major revenue earner last year hahahahha - (just joking btw just incase you counter sue) - very nice workshop set-up too - could have done you a good deal on Rojek instead of Robland maybe, but fair play, Robland is a very good piece of kit too. Cheers Nick (won't even type the company I work for here just in case you do sue me and the lawyers have a field day) best regards to all too

Hi Nick and welcome No problem with you posting your company We all might be looking for a deal Andy Thanks for the welcome Andy - this is a very interesting board - some quite technical and specific info on here which I've read and appreciated. I work for Axminster if you hadn't guessed - I'm out on the road selling Jet/Rojek and now Kreg into the Northern dealers- my comment was more due to the fact I mostly check this forum in my own time, and although I'll help out when I can, I'm always a bit wary of any comments I type being interpreted as an 'official company response' Late at night and maybe after a few beers I can assure you my responses are in no way to be interpreted as an official reply Will help out where poss though - chances are I'll just lurk around if that's ok - theres a lot of people on here with a wealth of experience who can answer most questions better than myself. Best regards Nick

Hi Nick and welcome from my good self aswell ;D I'm of the opionion that the more tool traders around here offering the best deals in the for sale forum the better for our members . So if you can have a word with the people that list the "good " returns on ebay to list them here first ;D If not , oh well just enjoy the no bull fun of the forum ;D

Let's see now.......
Wadkin EQ spindle moulder Wadkin Bursgreen UO/S 18 x 9in planer thicknesser (did you know it was originally designed by Sagar?) Wadkin DM square chisel mortiser MPower 4-sided moulder Robland Z3200 3.2m panel saw Maggi Junior 640 radial arm saw
nice kit! Having a 4-sider will be a real time saver. Any tenoner?
And Axminster trademarked white? And there was me thinking that Jet/Axminster had nicked the idea from SCM......

Nice to see you back online, bloody long time sorting that pc out. It's the DMV mortiser, and how nice it is too. Tenoner, yes arrived last week but the whitehil blocks are delayed due to relocating. Went for the wilson 4 headed in the end. Couldn't find a 5 headed within our budget. The four sider wasn't' high on my list to start with but as you say, it's a real time saver. Did originally look at the smaller model but it didn't look that strong. We changed the standard blocks straight away with a set Kanefusa @ £50 each!! www.tvss.co.uk/index_files/Page544.htmAny items you would change, apart from the saw as I know you would opt for the F45 but you can't get one of them for £4K

It's the DMV mortiser, and how nice it is too. Nice! That vibrating head cuts through oak like butter. You did well to get one with the stops on. makes my Multico MCD look like a right pile of you know what (although I can mortise a made-up door with mine ;D) Tenoner, yes arrived last week but the whitehil blocks are delayed due to relocating. Went for the wilson 4 headed in the end. Couldn't find a 5 headed within our budget. Nice machine, the Wilson. Better designed than the Wadkin ECA/EHA or Dominion BX/BXA IMHO. The only real challenger to is is the small Robinson and they're equally rare Any items you would change, apart from the saw Nope, not really. Obviously a separate planer and thicknesser are more time effective than a combination machine - but they take up a lot of space. A 3- or 4-knife block on the thicknesser is a boon as it reduces the amount of sanding you need to do, but that can wait. The only things which seem to be missing are a wide belt/wide drum sander (real time savers), a rip saw (saves knocking your panel saw around and reduces the amount of time spent blade changing), a pin router (great for cranking-out multiple components such as corbels, legs, arms, etc) and some way of dovetailing drawers. Scrit And no I'm taking no responsibility for pushing you further over the edge......

thank mate. Nice to know we have headed in the right direction to start with.
The dovetailer is being ordered soon, only a Leigh model but better than nothing (or doing it by hand). The wide belt sander is on the cards once the extraction is sorted out.
Rip saw. We did purchase a 26" cooksley off ebay but once seeing it in person we backed away. Wouldn't have fitted in back of transit. Far toooooo big for us. We are looking at the large axminster bandsaw and hopefully replace with a band resaw once the funds allow.
Haven't really thought about a pin router. time will tell on this one.
Ahh, and also a veneering line, with edge bander, press, stitcher etc but thats stage two when we get the unit next door (hopefully)

We are looking at the large axminster bandsaw and hopefully replace with a band resaw once the funds allow. I'd probably go a different way and shell out instead for a Wadkin BZB 24in or the like - something cast iron but not archaic - then add a Comatic AF-20 power feeder at a later date if bulk resawing of veneer/lipping production is your aim Scrit
