I've just got a leaflet through that claims AEG are offering "free parts, free service, free batteries for life" on some of their cordless tools for a limited time. It gives a link to the www.lifetimeserviceagreement.co.uk/ website. I've had a look at the terms and conditions, they seem reasonable at a glance except for a few strategically placed "at our option" clauses and the fact that for battery replacement you have to send away the old one first so you may find yourself without use of the tool while you await the new ones. What does everyone else reckon? Worth a try? I'm tempted to replace my Makita combi drill whose batteries are starting to fail with one of their Li-Ion kits of drill, impact driver and torch. EDIT: Ought to note, I'm not affiliated with AEG at all, just a (possible) buyer of some of their gear.

i have an old aeg biscuit jointer which is actually pretty good, sturdy etc. HOWEVER, since i have had it, aeg have gone through a number of transmogrifications, including being milwaukee, or owning them, and others. few tool suppliers seem to stock them so you are kind of locked in to a manufacturer who seems to chop and change. paul

I would have a look on Ebay as I got my !8v LXT Drill for £175 with p+p but it did come with a 110 charge ( not a problem for me as I have a tranny ). You can get some very good deals on there By the way that was brand new in the box ;D
