It's a big barsteward....... SCM made, or at least sold, static chain mortisers, although I thought they were actually manufactured by Centauro, like most of the bandsaws are these days. If it's an SCM l'Invincibile it's at least 25 years old

In the meantime I'll add to your knowledge base.......
British chains come in three pitches, .54in, .62in and .89in.
.54 pitch, the smallest size chain, is normally only available in chain widths from around 3/16in up to 5/8in and mortise lengths between 3/4in and 1-3/8in and was generally described as being suitable for "fine cabinet work"
.62 is a more general joinery pitch chain available in the same chain widths as .54 pitch, but in mortise lengths from 7/8in to about 1-3/8in
.89 i the heaviest of all of the chains in widths between 1/4in and 1in and lengths between 1-1/2in and 3in and was normally recommended for heavy joinery work such as gates, architectural work, etc.
In addition the generally recommended power requirements for chain mortisers was: 3 to 4HP for chains up to 1-1/4 x 3in and 4 to 5 HP for machines up to 2 x 3-1/2in
That information came from an old Thos. Robinson catalogue.....
As for metric chains I have absolutely no idea........
