Following previous thread on what router to replace my old Ryobi 2HP, I eventually went for the Festool 1400.
Completed first set of strings today and the difference over the old router was spectacular, so much easier and straightforward. No fighting and jumping out of the jig and a lot quieter, at one point I found myself listening to the radio while routing.
Dust extraction if first class (mind you I did buy the aspirator at the same time ;D ;D)
What I'm impressed with is the quality of the cut, I did suspect that the old router has some play in the shaft and this confirms it.
Only odd thing is I am wearing the router bits out faster, but what I don't know is because this cuts so much better, I am more aware of the edge going. On the old router I was spending so much time keeping it in the jig I wasn't focusing on the cutting.
