A question for the machine guru's out there. I am buying a metal cutting bandsaw and have been offered a "Wespa" which I have never heard of. Any thoughts? Cheers Brian

From a google, they appear to be a German company, so the Startrite bit must be badge engineering. Try "Wespa bandsaw" - the ones I clicked on were vertical saws, but they looked pretty serious kit.

Not woodwork.
In the rest of my life - work - we are an engineering company doing linings for quarry equipment in rubber/steel composites which is a sod to cut with anything. Either the rubber stops the blade or it won't cut the steel. Currently we use hand held TCT circular saws to cut the steel and then knives to cut the rubber. The blades are £30 each and last about 10m!
Hence "the beast"
cheers
Brian
