i'm with dom car body filler. used to be P38, or actually i have used one of the plastic fillers that come in a tube, from one of car paint wholesalers. since there raison d'etre is to keep car body paint on a car outside, they have a much better ability to stay the same size. pauk

No Dom it's Fosters. I can't see how a tin of Fosters will help you fill some wood though?? maybe after a tin of this it looks better anyway. After about ten of them who gives a damn what it looks like. ;D

JFC
I use the Unibond "Repair Wood for Good" stuff. Made by Henkel and used to be called Plastic Padding, I think. It's very reliable. Only problem is that it sets very, very quickly.
I can remember trying to use it to plug a hole in a fascia board on my house and I had a job getting up the ladder fast enough before it went off!
Regards.

A topical issue for me - a couple of weeks ago I filled some mdf with P38 car body filler which I've successfully used before.
This week I primed it with International mdf primer and the filler has swelled - not something I've encountered before.
Should I have used a solvent-based primer?
