I think it's the terminology they don't understand in some of these places. You have to explain what each piece does and describe what it looks like sometimes. I don't thinkthey sell much of this stuff -- it's probably turned around quite slowly too.

I see what you mean now . It's a bit of wood with a rebate for the parting bead in it . the stuff Matt gets is the whole frame section and tou just mitre it together .
I'm making five sashes at the moment and have decided to use 32mm stock for the sides and rebate the mighton parting bead into that and also groove out for the spirals so they are hidden in the frame and not groved out of the sash itself making the mortice and tenon weaker .

Sorry for the delay -- been away. Great pic. I went to Merton Timber's Mitcham branch the other day where they had all the box stuff in stock. They said their supplier is Finn Forest.
Acre Lane Timber also sell the box section stuff but it's not Finn Forest so it doesn't fit the Merton stuff.
Will try to post a pic.
