just bought the latest issue of above mag. issue 203 in it are a number of pages of reprints of articles by the late john brown. nice to see them in one place for a while. comment for us all (alf ) "by all means glean what you can from reading what the experts say. But don't let it get in the way of your woodwork remember that every day you do some woodwork, your techniques improve. even when everything goes wrong, that is still an important day when you will have learned something you won't easily forget" a hand woodworker with a production ability. later in the mag is also a comparison by our own andy king between routers and different kind of moulding planes. well written, not to badly edited, and useful. paul

I picked up a copy last week as I haven't been able to buy a woodworking mag for a long time. Some very interesting articles with 2 in particular which seem to be aimed at the younger generation in the UK ('what a carve up' and 'knives out'). I particularly enjoyed the profile on Timberline - when I feel homesick I'll have to organise a visit. Steve

I enjoyed this edition, having swerved the mag for about a year. I knew nothing about John Brown til I read the article and felt saddened that I missed out on his writing and now feel compelled to scout out a copy of his book.
The article on Timberline was interesting, especially as they are local to me.
However, what on earth was that Tiled Table all about? Complete rubbish IMHO!
