as many of you have complained i do bang on a little about the fein multimaster etc. but i can see that it could be thought of as a little expensive. so i note that bosch do a machine that some claim is similar. not having tried one can't say, but makro seem to be selling them at a decent price over the next couple of weeks. then when you have seen what one of these tools can do, you will buy the real thing ;D paul

In the past I have borrowed a friends Fein so when B&Q were selling the Bosch cheap I bought one. It probably won't last as long as the Fein but to be blunt the Fein did not get a lot of use anyway! Unless you have a real need for one then I would recommend the Bosch - it does basically the same things and about 3x times cheaper? One thing the Fein failed on was that the metal cutting saw would not cut through screws! I have not tried that with the Bosch?

Many of the modern screws are case hardened, to make them stronger for power driving, which makes them hard to cut. I've used the Bosch blades sucessfully in my Fein Multi Master, they are much cheaper and despite having a plain round hole rather than the Fein star shaped thingy work fine. I also sharpen the Fein E-cut blades with a very small tapered diamond wheel from Dremel. Quick to do and works great!
