Yes, but it still gave me the opportunity to trot out some more meaningless factoids, though

HSE tried to do a study onthe dangers, but found the big companies that use MDF also use redwood and hardwoods. Who here likes the smell of cedar and loves to cut then smell it. You naughty people. It seems too be the nice smelling ones are the more harmfull as its the resins in it that smell. Iroko just stinks

Their American equivalent, the OSHA, conculded a few years ago that the biggest carcinogen risk timber in use in the USA was western red cedar - which is also one of the commonest timbers used in house construction. And the Americans have a large percentage of timber housing

not to dis the "findings" but it is interesting that anyone over about 50 almost certainly had to be somewhat of a mechanic in the 60's and 70's otherwise they could not afford to drive, and in those days ALL brake shoes had asbestos in them, but it seems only those who actually made them have en masse suffered from asbestosis. same i think with many of the carcinogens it really does depend on where and how you are exposed. i mean what is radion supposed to do, but for years there were guys selling meters to check it, but no cure and now that seems a long time ago as someone said some time recently 10 years ago, aids was gonna wipe us all out, but it hasn't yet you never see the so called experts come back and say we stuffed up we're sorry. in many things related to construction i think things are taken out of context, i mean if you look at some of the ingredients in these latest water based paints and you wonder what they do to your health. at least with oil paints you can smell the killer ;D paul

I think that Mr Grim has the solution, it is better to drink beer than paint, even the modern stuff.
