Well seeing as though Scrity and EngineerOne left the other forum, I thought I'd let them see what I'd been up to following their advice on circ saws Treehouse project: My favourite part is the retractable ladder, that is counter weighted to make it easy to raise and lower... Shed Project: Fairly simple 2x2 frame with shiplap cladding. Almost finished the doors (just need cladding / glazing) But I'm pleased with progress! The circular saw has been invaluable, so thanks for the tips! I will keep asking for advice, and posting the subsequent results Si

Nice to see some garden "furniture". I'm sure the recipient has made good use of the up-market tree house

nice work mate, glad we were able to point you in the right direction. puts my recent output to shame got any more details of the ladder? paul Thanks! The ladder hides up into the frame: The ladder itself is just some 2x2 with housings to accept some 2x1 batton, doubled up, and glued / screwed together. It is hinged on one of the main bearing 9x2s with some T hinges. The bottom of one of the legs has a hole drilled in it, and some rope passed through the hole. The rope then winds it's way up to the top via eye bolts and pulleys, with an old coke bottle filled with water to act as the counter weight (this allowed me some tuning by adding / removing water) Sorry for the quality of the pic: Si

But I have to admit to spending a fair bit of time in there myself, it makes a great spot to "plink" with the air rifle Si
