Here are some pictures of a pair of bedside tables I have recently finished making. It is made out of Cherry (English/Native/Wild) with Padauk handles. Its measures 45X45X60 cm. As you can see, part of the top is a circle that swivels on a lazy Susan, where half of it can be lifted up to reveal a LED low voltage light. There is a small switch that turns the light on/off when the lid is lifted/put back in place. ... and "yes" it was a challenging project (namely, on the verge of a nightmare) Eyal

Is it only me who thinks the idea a litttle impractical? EITHER you can put stuff on the top of the table OR you can use the light. And with the tables placed beside the bed in the usual position, the pillows and your arm will cast shadows over whatever you are trying to read. The flappy lid also reminds me of a commode for some reason.

Eyal
Very, very nicely made. You've chosen the grain pattern well and I like the softened top edges.
Like Nick, I would find your cunning design a bit impractical. By the bed, I need just a simple surface to empty my pockets onto and to set the alarm clock on.
Regards.

I don't agree, my bedside table has a lamp and a book on it, as it's a lazy susan you would be able to turn the lamp to suit.

Nice job Eyal. BUT, As you get older, the better the bedside lamp needs to be. Prefer a higher lamp with bright globe.
