Despite many numerous things that are WIP, I have just (about) completed what I consider my second ever project, it is a picture frame for a friend, he took the picture somewhere down under and had it blown up, he had it in a cheap plastic cover. Basically I made him & his Mrs this as a crimbo present. The idea is that the frame is quite bulky and raw looking in order to complement the quite harsh landscape - I think it works quite well, although they have not yet seen it! The whole thing is made out of oak, there are floating M&T joints at the sides and also 2 pieces of dowel more as decoration (see pic) although they do go right through the joint. Pls be gentle, I know I talk a lot but I am very much a newbie to WW, that said any constructive criticism is most welcome ;D

interesting gives the picture an almost 3d quality which adds to its value. often people just follow tradition with photo frames, or they use the cr*p bought ones and detract from the picture. my only real comment is you need better lighting for your lower photos ;D since they are not so clear well done paul

Well done, I like that.
The thick frame makes it look like you are looking through a window.
A bit of warm sun, sand and sea would go down just nicely at the moment ;D

I like it as well. In my view picture frames often look good if you make them a bit different. Cheers Paul

looks very good, the depth the chamfer gives is very effective. simple design but works perfectly.

Thallow
Looks good to me. Like Keith says, it gives you the effect of looking through a window.
Make sure your friend hangs it securely, it's probably quite heavy.
Regards.
