Hi Gromit and welcome . I've not used that system and not to sure i would want to . Decking tends to move alot and i'm not sure they are a good thing .

as you can see you use a biscuit jointer for these fixings, they also act as spacers which is useful
i havent used them before but would suggest that you select the IPE carfully. i would suggest the plastic fixings will not have the strength to pull a warped plank of this very dense hardwood flush

Gromit These are used a lot in the US (as is IPE). I have Ipe decks at home but I used small head SS decking screws. Bear in mind that its not only a very hard wood, it is also HIGHLY abrasive (often containing small pieces of silica etc) so you will go through BJ blades! Checked out some reviews from forums in the USA and opinions seem to differ. Anyway it's what the customer wants and there doesn't seem to be an alternative hidden fastener that works with 19mm h/wood.
