Hi -
I like a tough crowd... ;D ... no worries here!
Since the number of boards seems to increase faster than my ability to read them - pls feel free to give me a prod by email if there's a question or comment I miss replying to... rlee@leevalley.com
Always happy to reply as best I can!
Cheers -
Rob (who has been reading in the "pub", having missed the original donnybrook....)

nice to know you found the escape tunnel rob, always glad to see an enthusiastic manufacturer happy to deal with the end customer ;D just make sure none of your kids want to become an accountant that way you can continue to make decent tools at a sensible price for your overheads i for sure certainly lurve my veritas planes. not so happy about some of your earlier boxes though, they will never be around long enough to be antiques ;D all very well be biodegradeable, but some of us like to keep them around for later now we need a review paul

If we all asked kind enough Could we convince Alf to write one I partially blame her reviews for starting me on this slope! Sparky Ps. her reviews also explain why I only (to date) own Veritas planes ;D

Jacob wrote - I wonder if Rob Lee is aquanted with our Worcestershire Sauce? - Rob We have that stuff down here. It is very popular. I use it for my own BBQ sauce. But maybe this should be in the 'food' section I really do love how this forum covers all the 'important' things in life: Tools, Food, and...other bits . I think we are very well rounded ;D Sparky

Sparky, I was working on it - truth be told I'd forgotten how much work they are! So time will tell if I actually get it out into the big bad world before everyone's going "What? That old thing? I remember my old grandpa buying one of those..." Cheers, Alf P.S. No temptation to own a Groz block plane yet then...? ;D

No temptation to own a Groz block plane yet then...? ;D It hasn't hit me yet ;D and probably never will after using my trusty Veritas. I'm still undecided on spokeshaves Veritas BU or BD...decisions Sparky

I'm still undecided on spokeshaves Veritas BU or BD...decisions Hi Sparky, I find that the Veritas low angle 'shave works particularly well www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=3&p=44834&cat=1,50230&ap=1 Also, if you can find a second-hand Stanley #53 with the adjustable mouth, they are very nice to use. As you close up the mouth, it has the effect of reducing the depth of cut, so you can go from wide mouth and coarse cut to narrow mouth and fine cut in one step. Very useful. It would be nice if LV could introduce an adjustable mouth model like the #53. Cheers Paul

It would be nice if LV could introduce an adjustable mouth model like the #53. I second that motion. Carried? Right, over to you then, Rob... ;D If you're going to go bevel-up in spokeshaves, well the kits are damn good fun to make. Cheers, Alf

I will give it a go if I have not missed the boat Ok - you're it! If you can email me directly with your name and address - I'll get it all set up. Standard terms are to provide straightforward comments back to us on anything to do with it - Packing, first impressions, ergonomics, suitability to purpose etc. Depending on the type of prototype (model, or pre-production) - you get to keep it, or can have a new one from real production. A public review is completely up to you - we don't ask for one. Oh.... and you don't have strange hands, do you...? ;D ;D You can get me directly at rlee@leevalley.com . Cheers - Rob
