Made some a looong time ago, i'll see if I can find a picture. What I do remember is, that they were for a young lady in Maida Vale and I didn't find out until I'd finished what profession she followed, she payed in cash, damn it.

Of course, Norm made plantation shutters in the 2006 series (yet to be shown in UK). If I remember rightly he used jigs and bought in some of the specialised components. I'll try and look over the weekend if anybody is interested and get more details. (Or even send a copy of the show)

You can watch a video clip here www.newyankee.com/video.cgi?0602At just over 2 minutes it is about 10% of the complete programme run time and gives an idea of Norms method. There is virtually no custom hardware. I do wonder how long the linkages based of staples will last. Stainless stapes should last better and look good for longer. Bob

Ok , looking at that you can lose most of the jigs . I might have to put my playing head on and have a go at this .

Was chatting to a shutter supplier on a job a while ago, he used to have them made to measure in the UK but it is now cheaper to order them from the far east, all made from hardwood and finished to any RAl colour, hope you are not intending to make any money if you make them yourself Jason

DD, I've just checked this on three browsers. IE and Netscape are fine but Firefox is not happy and won't load te video. I did this test on the same computer so each browser should theoretically be capable of locating the Windows media player (ver 9) that I have installed. Which browers have you tried and is your media player up to date? Another possibility if you have Real player. Open real player, select file /open (or cntrl O) and paste in www.newyankee.com/video/0602.wmvAny good? Bob
