Tapes are very closely related to pencils and car keys, I find. Buggers spend their whole lives finding places to hide.

There have been some reports of faulty return spring mechanisms on some of the new Stanley's. The tension is so great that they can actually rewind completely on themselves causing a disruption in the time space continuum resulting in them returning to their original atomic component parts. Look for piles of unexplained debris around the place. Unfortunately the manufacturer will not be able to refund as the product needs to be in the state it was originally purchased ;D ;D Cheers ;D Tony

Tapes are very closely related to pencils and car keys, I find. Buggers spend their whole lives finding places to hide. I reckon that tapes go off for dirty weekends with chuck keys. ;D Pencils are just real slappers and shoot off for unscheduled assignations all the time. As for car keys, the only thing to do is what my Dad did (and what happens a lot in the bush in Australia) and leave them in the ignition - where else should car keys be?

Yep I can relate to that. I have three scattered around my workshop and still manage to lose the buggers! Of course as is usual helpful input from SWMBO is 'Where did you have it last?' If i knew that I wouldn't have lost it would I?

I guess that one day someone is going to find a pile of ballpoint pens three mile high and right next door will be an even bigger pile of screwdrivers. these two items are what disappear most in our house.

Went out and bought three Fisco tapes today( on special offer at the moment) and got to thinking. How difficult would it be to to put a small buzzer in the tape that is activated by a button on the workshop wall. If someone makes a fortune from this idea I want 10%

Ooh yes, then you could have a bluetooth headset and the tape could talk to you. "Oi, I'm over here " ;D
