Hi, reading the posts about sharpening card scrapers, I wonder if anyone has a good way of honing the edges before turning the hook. I have just been going round the radii with a fine diamond hand hone and then a quick swipe on a 6000 stone before using a round burnisher to turn the hook. Is there an easier way?

Hi Philip I will keep it short No Sorry I just could not help it. I use a slip stone but it would help to keep a good edge if you burnished the side of your scrapers ( this depend on how you turn your edge )

burnished the side of your scrapers I do this as well now, having seen Colin do it. Place the scraper flat on the bench and burnish to and fro about 20 or 30 times before turning the edge. Cheers Paul
