And after all that he still didn't fit a decent thick iron Still very nice to see the process and as Dom says, his tool cabinets are as good as his furniture. So he must be an amateur ;D Scrit

Fab. Only point - I hear tell stainless steel electrodes are a BAD idea - IIRC some of the metal salts that end up in the electrolyte are particularly unhealthy.

I think he didn't replace the iron because it's a vintage, square cornered "Sweet Heart" iron. They're highly thought of by Stanley collectors, apparently.
Impressive work all round, I'd say.

Nice one., About the same procedure as I do, except I do all the screws, botls en rods and the adjustment wheel on the lathe. and I use original japanning instead of epoxy. Oh and thanks I think for the calling armature (only my bench does not have those nice doors )

Not something I'd do to a #2 personally - assuming I ever saw one. Well actually the refinishing I wouldn't even do to a #4, so I may be a teeny bit biased in that respect. Cheers, Alf

I'm probably the only person you'lll ever find using Sweetheart tools out doing installations. Well it's nice to know that there's something on site older than me ;D Goes to show I'm just a user, I suppose..... Scrit
