I have a Vauxhall Vivaro in white, which I'm buying on hp as advised by the accountant. Very pleased with it, it has been really a good buy. No sign writing, I thought it might encourage someone to break in looking for tools.
I've fully ply lined the compartment then carpeted the floor area. Stops things sliding around a bit and helps protect anything I'm delivering from damage. It's been remarkably durable, I've had tonne bags of sand and pallets of blocks in the back and it just vacs clean.

What's the smallest/cheapest van that will take a 4 x 8? As I work alone I usually hire a Man'n'Van for delivery of anything that I can't easily move on my own. It means I get an extra pair of hands and don't have the expense of running the thing full time. However t'would be nice to be able to pick up sheet goods from time to time, particularly as most suppliers won't deliver the small quantities I use.

Two transits and an ancient Midi. Like you we rent for the bigger deliveries it's probably the cheapest way to do it. Had a Fiat for a while, a turbo, it flew but not a good van in my opinion.

I obviously have some sort of inferiority complex about my height (6'4") . I like small vehicles.

I currently drive a Smart car, When my son was in Madrid recently, he hired a Smart car. When I spoke to him over the 'phone, I asked what it was like. He replied "Imagine riding around Paris on a bicycle in the rush-hour" ;D ;D Actually, I think they look quite cool, particularly with some of the paint jobs Cheers Paul PS Welcome, Wizer
