Using The Tormek - YouTube Demo...

Hi Folks,

I found a great demo of the Tormek this morning - the main US distributor has done a series of 5 videos showing a chisel being sharpened over 4 videos and then a kitchen knife on another. They promise more to come to cover every jig - worth a look for the Tormek owners amongst us maybe.

Yes. Jeff Farris the US distributor or Tormek has a number of these videos on his site for some time with links for easy downloading of low and hight quality versions.

He was the guest on NYW when Norm made the sharpening station in episode 11 series 12

After watching the youtube one about sharpening knives, I did a kitchen knife that I'd failed to sharpen a few years back with the Tormek, even though I got it's "sister" knife really sharp.

After about 10 minutes of setup (first use of it in 4 years and it was a bit dusty) I was able to put a razor edge on it that shaved a few hairs off my arm. Ah, it took me right back to when I had a bald left forearm!

Anyway, sharp kitchen knives are something I love, so the Tormek is going to get a bit more use again this week!

I also used it to sharpen a couple of turning tools and got great results.
