Hi all - a happy new year to everyone!
The rise mechanism of my table saw has become very stiff - I've hoovered off most of the saw dust from inside and suppose some lubrication would be good. Is PTFE spray any use or WD40? Or something else??
Cheers
Stewart

Hi Stewart, I always use PTFE spray as it doesn't attract the dust like oil based stuff. I have tried WD40 and 3in1 and they both end up turning the dust into a goo which is a pain to remove.HTH.

Thanks for the link, Misterfish I'd already got some dry lubricant from a bike shop but I'll bear it in mind when I run out. Thanks again Stewart

Yes thanks Misterfish. I hadn't seen that on the Bay. I shall buy some from there next time, much cheaper than I paid for an aerosol can of it.

It's really part of SWMBO and my 'green' living style. Aerosols always seem so wasteful so we try to get pump versions of stuff that can be refilled or which will not produce rubbish for landfill. We can't recycle aerosols but can recycle plastic bottles.
