Heads or for landlubbers Crappers ;D About two weeks before the postal strike I ordered a service kit for a Jabsco toilet. One week into the strike the kit filtered through past the PO blockade ;D Wrong set apparently toilets made before 1997 have black handles, toilets made after 1997 have grey handles. Both sets have the exact same part numbers, how stupid is that? So I send them back after speaking to someone on the phone, I telephoned rather than do it on line cos the web site don't know I want a grey handle kit and there was no way of telling them. Anyway Monday arrived and so did the correct kit. ;D Tuesday morning I'm on my boat up to my elbows in you know what and having changed every part and put the pump back in position I opened the sea cocks and did a test pump bloody water went everywhere except into the toilet. So I had to take it all to bits to find out what I f@cked up. It appears I had over tightened the six phillips screws that hold the top on and broke two of the molded pillars that the screws screw into, useless stupid design So the outcome is I'm now waiting for a replacement pump cylinder and another £27 poorer. Lessons learnt...... Plastic aint as strong as wood Note to myself....... Read the "Lessons learnt" line before you fit the new part........
