I have voted and I would like one as I have some bits to put in it. How I make the baby's rattles for a start I also have two more to make

How I make the baby's rattles for a start I've voted "Yes". I think Colin's rattles are lovely and would like to see how they were made Cheers Paul

So. We don't have a woodturning section. How is NOT having a woodturning section going to help the forum?

Judging by the popularity of turning I think it would be a good idea. Not only is it an integral part of woodworking there are those who read and use these forums who specialise in it.

Might turn up (sorry) some new members but they have been known to feel ignored elswhere at times.

Might turn up (sorry) some new members but they have been known to feel ignored elswhere at times. Might that be because they tend to stick exclusively to the turning area? I know that's a generalisation, but it did seem to happen quite a lot on TOP.

Does it matter if people just want to stick to one topic?

Only if they then complain about feeling ignored.

Yes - definately worthwhile. In my case I do have an old lathe and do dabble from time to time but it is not a major part of my woodworking. As has been already suggested, anything that encourages transission of skills and ideas (and others to join the forum) must be good for one and all.

I also fire up my '53 once in awhile. First have to chase away the spiders ......... At some stage we should also look at a scrolling section ....... There are some pretty good scrollers out there.

Combine the two? i.e a scrolling & turning section.

Hmmmm - not much synergy between turning and scrolling, surely? On that basis, why bother having anything but a woodworking forum? Oh - we already have one!
