Have we got any Turners ?

Just wondered if they were extinct on this forum.......apart from the trade boys shouting 'help' when they need something out of the ordinary

(....'I've got a lathe somewhere, but I can't remember where I put it'......)


If we have - perhaps you could post some pics of your setup, what you do and try and get a bit of life going in here (?)

This is one of the Trade boy that can turn ( I think there a few more too )

I have not had time to post it but I turn baby's rattles for family and friends baby's.

I took some pic's of the last one and will post a how to soon

I'm trade and a dab hand at calling Colin C when i need some doing ;D I only do it because he likes my Lathe ;D

I tried calling ColinC but he's always at Jasons' ;D

Thats because i feed him nice food , not a bit of cake cut with a dirty old saw ;D

I turn but don't consider myself a "turner" - it's be like calling myself a "routerer" or a "biscuit jointerer". S'just another tool with a tail to me, not the be all and end all - unlike planes, chisels, hand saws, etc... In fact it's probably the closest I ever get to the attitude of the woodworker-for-money.

However, as there's an opportunity to plug, who am I to turn it down? ;D

If I have to use your lathe again, I dont think you will have one for very long but picture it being a lathe something like yours
