Actually I did wonder about hinges or other methods of getting at them, to clean, as they are high off the ground. Then I found out about window cleaning pole systems so it's not a prob. But painting will be a prob so thats why I'm looking at trad linseed oil etc which promises long life and minimal maintenance. With luck I'll be too old (or fallen off scaffolding) by the time they need repainting, so some other berk will have to do it ;D

Yes brill I want one ;D Didn't know Rutlands did April 1 jokes too. I'd prefer a veritas version; it'd have more brass knobs.
cheers Jacob

Another big b***r in situ. So many windows, so little time Here's the one it replaced. Looks like a beached jelly fish somehow The coloured glass comes from windows at the east end which I've moved to the west end, which will be the posh end when we open for pole dancing and all nite boozing

Jacob , how was the curved glazing bar made ? Steam bent or moulded out of one timber ? maybe a few timbers ? The curved glazing bars are reclaimed from the originals, being made of oak and still in perfect condition. Were steam bent originally, so saved me a major job. The rest is all new including the curved heads.

Looks like you have used some of the spun glass and had to replace some with float ? They do look nice !
