Welcome to the December, 2007 issue of the Sawdust Making 101 Newsletter.
I would like to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Woodworking is an amazing hobby, I participate in a few discussion groups and am always amazed at the friendship that evolves even though we have only met online. We are so fortunate that the spirit of good will is not a seasonal thing, it goes on all year. Sadly our friend "Limey", Robert Bolton, is no longer with us to offer his opinions, the news of his passing was a shock, the response to Sonny's post is probably the best testament to our feelings about him, cheers buddy. His signature was definitely a reflection of his character "A candle loses nothing lighting another"
For anyone looking for a quick last minute scroll saw project there are plans for a stocking hanger on Do-It-101.com:

I have added a bunch of vintage plans from 1912 for Mission style furniture on Sawdust Making 101, detail drawings are included, instructions are pretty basic, they generally assume you know how to do most of the steps:

This is a great video from Shop Notes on setting up locked rabbet drawer joints, makes it seem kind of simple:
www.shopnotes.com/issues/096/videos/drawer-joint-bits/
Found this Russian site with some pretty fantastic carving, there is a Babelfish link included to translate it, not that it needs words to describe the work:
www.firsanov.ru/
babelfish.altavista.com/tr
Run out of ideas and want to browse through some plans, you will find hundreds of them that cost you nothing at Absolutely Free Plans:
absolutelyfreeplans.com
For other craft ideas visit Do-It-101.com, a do-it-yourself index to just about anything:
doit101.com
See you next year and in closing I would like to remind you to work safely and remember:
"If it doesn't feel good, don't do it."
