Colin C nipped over today as he needed some hand rail knocked up on the spindle moulder . I told him to pick up the cutters etc that he needed and he tuned up with this 100mm block and 70mm knives and limiters Handrail attached to Colins hand carved turn . It was rather noisey and i'm still shaking ;D

ahhh that's not a hand rail, it's a giant's hockey stick!
Very skilful carving there, impressed.

Hi Colin
I'd love to see some more pictures. Did you groove-out the underside of the hand rail before installing it and if not did that create any problems?
Jason
That looks to have been pretty near the maximum capacity of the spindle moulder, both in cutter height and horsepower. No wonder you were a bit apprehensive. BTW, do you need a longer broomstick to switch the spindle moulder on now? ;D

Dont be silly , the normal broom stick fixed to a police riot shield works just fine ;D

Oooh, that does look nice. So, how did you fit them to the walls? I always imagined these things are mounted onto a stud and secured via a hole on the underside... am I close?

Telos Sorry mate but on this one the chippys did not leave anywhere for me to fix behind the plaster board so on the turn I had to drill a hole in the side, then screw and plug On the straight rail I had to get them to do something for me to fix to as it was over the stairs, so they cut a hole in the plaster ( which was finished )and fix a batten so I could do the same but also had a problem with bolting the other end but got it done. Just meant I had a long day there
