so i have finally decided that i am getting fit enough to go back into the workshop colin had bought me a lump of sycamore to use as a wedge for one of my woodies, so i needed to square it off. whip out the shooting board, couple of wipes and measure. ::)that's wrong. do it again. check with the square again. still not right, another plane, still same problem. so then a light bulb moment, and check out the square. mine is one of those m brand adjustables like the one trend now sell. it ain't square. not a lot, but enough so now i have whipped out the allan keys and am adjusting it. reminds me that not only should you check sharpness of your tools, but also the accuracy plus of course not drop the bloody thing too often ;D paul

actually no jaco, but coming nearer to one of those birfdays which is supposed to be the start of the down hill slope to senior moments anyway another good reason to ensure you have a decent engineers square around as a reference paul

Paul, I agree with you ................ Referring to the engineers square. AS to the downhill slope, I suspect we need to ask "Old Chappy-Paul" about that one . ;D ;D ;D ;D Senior moments .... Now where is that walking stick ... It is actually an Intellectual Intermission. ;D ;D
