Welcome to the May, 2008 issue of the Sawdust Making 101 Newsletter.
I find sheet goods one of the most difficult things to handle in a small one man shop, 4 X 8 sheets are just too big for one person to feed through most table saws, even when there is room to do it. I prefer to cut them down into smaller panels using a hand circular saw and this sheet rack made from two 2 X 4's:

Any straight board will work for a guide, but if you want to get fancy there are plans to make one here:

Burning alcohol on wood to remove dents is totally new to me, haven't tried it yet, but it does make sense:

Ran across these two sites, both show some incredible work:

www.jacquesvesery.com/Site/_Jacques_Vesery_Home.html
Wood Magazine has a video on YouTube doing stress tests on common joints, they test for both shear and pull-apart strength.

Run out of ideas and want to browse through some plans, you will find hundreds of them that cost you nothing at Absolutely Free Plans:

For other craft ideas visit Do-It-101.com, a do-it-yourself index to just about anything:

In closing I would like to remind you to work safely and remember:
"If it doesn't feel good, don't do it."
