As I've said previously we will be leaving west africa next month and so have been looking for a bit of wood to bring back. I'm very happy as I managed to get a piece of ebony today . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . It fell of of this piece ;D (6" x 5" x 60") I also got a bit of mahogany (11" x 2" x 8 foot) and some iroko (on the left) and some teak The ebony was quite pricey as it isn't so easy to find - I paid the equivalent of about £30 for that piece. The rest came to about £340. Hopefully that little haul should keep me busy for a bit. Steve PS Hudson sends his regards - he is holidaying here for a few days

snip . . .otherwise how you going to get it home . . .paul We have a 20' shipping container for all our stuff so getting it to the UK shouldn't be a problem. I've also contacted the Forestry commission in the UK that deals with imports and they've told me in writing that there isn't any problem and no paperwork needed other than the regular customs declaration. At this end I've also been assured that there aren't any problems. Time will tell. Steve

Green with envy - what a stash!
Hope you do not get caught out with shipping agents and release fees at Felixstowe like I did a couple of years ago with some marble shipped from India?
Good luck.
