I haven't posted for a while but I've just finished a stand for my AV gear: The sides are solid ash and the shelves ash faced MDF lipped with solid ash. I made it adjustable and made a couple of spare shelves because I'm always changing things. Cheers Mike

If it was in a sitting room, I would have probably gone for smaller pieces of kit and made a cabinet that concealed them but as it's a dedicated AV room I was happy to have it on show.
yes the sidea are in two pieces, bevelled and glued together to form the angle. After doing that, I clamped them back to back and routed the grooves for the shelves.

V nice - what finish have you used on the ash - and will it stay light? Brian Sorry for not getting back sooner - I missed your post The finish is three coats of matt varnish. I like the B&Q low odour, water soluble stuff, especially as it's dry enough for the second coat in a about half an hour. I used it on my fitted wardrobes and so far it hasn't shown any sign of changing colour. Cheers Mike
