think it depends on the chemical constituents. one titebond is yellow, one is white in colour. paul

Hang on. I think you're getting confused (or I am).
White glue is what we call PVA glue. Yellow glue is what the Yanks call PVA with aliphatic resin added. Oh, and it's yellow...but also sometimes white! Seems to be more popular in the US - like Titebond II.
Apparently, adding the resin to PVA makes the glue less likely to creep when hard.
