I needed to get the router sorted today so i opted for the Triton . The first thing i found was that the fixing plate for the Triton wouldnt fit into my Record router table . Not a problem as i had a base plate for my DW625 so i re drilled it to take the Triton . This now put the router base about 25mm below the surface of the router table . Problem there , when i plunged the triton the collet lock engaged thinking i wanted to change the bit so wouldnt allow me to plunge to the depth i wanted . Over came that with the Xtreme Xtention , well sort of , after about eight tries of getting it balanced i gave up as the Triton was about to get the Trend treatment ;D

Yep Know what you mean. My triton worked really well in my home made table, but when i switched to the ryobi table i have had similar problems. What are the collet extensions like ?? any good ?? Cheers, Gazza.

I can get the XX set up in a DW625 third time , if that . I dont think it's going to happen in the Triton Not a problem as i can put the router on the Legacy where i can see it will work very well but is a bit worrying that the collet isnt balanced perfectly according to the XX .

I told you you really need to invest in something a bit more substantial, like a nice bit o' cast iron..........
