Jaysus, when he sat down on the saw at the beginning I thought he was going to slice his bum off! Still a crappy rip fence, still no blade guard, operator running the blade way too high but the significant thing is that Mr Idiot Demonstrator runs a scoring blade set without a guard. Anyone who has ever used a table saw with a scoring blade can attest to the fact that when the material contacts the scoring blade (which counter rotates) you often feel a slight snatch towards the rear of the saw, i.e. towards the main blade. As to a double scorer for dado (trench) cutting what the hell is that all about? Talk about technology for the sake of it. On spindle moulders we use 2-part split expanding trenching/rebating head which includes side scribers (knickers in hand plane terms), so congratulations, Laguna for re-inventing the wheel - and a less safe one to boot. As other contributors here and elsewhere have said we don't use much ply in Europe and for MDF and MFC there are more appropriate, safer and equally strong approaches to jointing which do away with the need for dado blades. Oh well, at least Mr. Idiot Demonstrator was wearing his safety glasses. Me, I'll stick to cutting housings on the radial arm saw or with the router. Scrit

hehe I thought you might like that. Indeed, I wondered if he'd pulled the plug before sitting on the bloody thing.
