Got a demand off them for £3753.00 threating county court action. First time i have every heard of a construction skills levy. Got on the phone to them apparently its a legal requirement to tell them how much you earn & how many people you employ. Anyone else had any dealings? Simon

I think the idea is that if you are a large employer and take on apprentices then you pay them but if you are a small employer and take on an apprentice they pay for his collage training .

Yep your right Jfc, and i am all for training but what i dont like is, giving my companies details to an organsation who could either potentioly lose them or maybe sale them on. Oh and also being threatened

I agree with you there . I think they ask for details so they can decide if you need to pay or if you are doing them a favour .

first step with all these things is write back and ask them to provide the details that require you to provide them. if you see what i mean. are you a limited company, and if so, are you registered with them, or do you pay them a levy for something else?? as with all these kind of things these days, people often send threats without actually having the right, so get them to put in writing what legal requirements they are relying on to propose taking you to court. paul

I get these once a year, the inland revenue use to give them the info, they were or still are a government agency with teeth.
You just fill in the details and return.
