In a small shop with only basic spray equipment, which I would rather not use, what is the best way to prevent yellowing on light timbers such as maple or ash?
I think I read somewhere that water based finishes were an improvement but would expect they'd raise the grain.

Acrylic waterbased lacquers dry crystal clear, and most can be applied by brush/roller if you don't want to spray them.

The timber itself will still yellow, with UV exposure. Bloody stuff won't do what it's told.

snip what is the best way to prevent yellowing on light timbers such as maple or ash? snip Assuming that you have a finish which doesn't itself darken , then keep it covered or in a darkened room. cheers Jacob
