DMT Dia Sharp stone.

Hello Folks
Has anyone got any experience with diamond stones
Over the other side there talking about bedding in when new , I have recently purchased a DMT Dia Sharp stone.
And when flattening the back of a chisel, a diamond came out, and was trapped between the chisel & stone, which gouge the stone quite noticeably. Is it usual for the odd diamond to come out in the bedding in stage

mine is a very older one, but that has never happened.

so i would send the dmn thing back

I've used these three DMT stones for many years



Never had a diamond come out. If you have, then I'd say it's a manufacturing fault and I'd send it back.

Thanks for the replies chaps,

I am gonna carry on with it for a while, and see what happens. Not 100% sure it was a diamond that came out, but cant see what else it could have been, as everthing was clean to start with, the tray, the chisel , the water i was using.

I have e-mailed dmt, will be interesting to read there reply

Update:
Have now recieved a reply from DMT
They informed me that it might have been a been caused by a small nickel nodule that broke free during flattening of my chisel back. Any scratches visible should not affect the performance of the whetstone and there is no need to be concerned!
