I know there are a lot of useful people passing through here, and I'm hoping someone can help me.
I'm looking to make a wooden unit to take a TV and all the sky box etc gubbins. It's to fit in with the rest of the matching furniture that all came from a now-discontinued range.
I'm having problems trying to source the timber. Acording to the website its "sheesham wood", or also known as "fruit wood", commonly used in indian-style furniture. I've looked at Robbins and Timbmet, but come up with nothing...
Unfortunately I'm getting this info from John Lewis so I'm not really that confident in them. The furniture is all in the quite heavy indian style, usually seen with wrought iron metalwork detailing. It's a deep red / brown similar to mahog but with a very wavy grain pattern. I'll try to get a picture up this evening.
Any help would be fantastic, Cheers, Jess.

Indian Rosewood is also known as Shisham so that is a possibility.
M&S do some furniture in the same wood.

Hi Jess I can't help with your timber but have a comment to make from bitter experience. Make sure you have plenty of airflow round your Skybox if building it in. I've had 2 boxes pack up in 5yrs despite having it open front and back and 3inches each side and half inch on the top. I discovered you can get fans to fit in them on the web but as its a diy job I haven't got around to doing it. Cheers Malcolm
