I started up the Burgreen today with a small rebate block in it and it seemed to loose power and then speed up again . It has done it a few times since . Any ideas what the problem could be or who i call to fix it

These motors usually have a start capacitor, this includes capacitor run motors too, once the motor is up to speed a centrifugal switch takes it out of circuit; it may be the switch that is faulty, perhaps bunged up with dust:-/
If that is the case it can bugger the motor if it runs with the capacitor engaged for too long

i always think in cases like this the first thing to do is clean everything. so take of the various switch covers once it is disconnected from the mains, and blow out all the dust etc, it also will allow you to see whether anything has burnt out i am constantly amazed by how quickly dust builds up and causes problems. it does sound like a loose connection, and since you haven't moved it too often since you got it first step must be to check which ones are loose, and or need cleaning paul
