I've found the newer DW 777 for the same price as the screwfix offering so may go for this.
It's great talking to yourself

I have had the DW 7?? for years in the workshop and on site fitting kitchens etc.... It has not let me down once, excellent value and quality. The DW 777 has the 1600w motor and would be my choice for a small saw.
I have just added a Kapex to my collection, apart form the price I am very pleased.

I had the Kapex but this time it's out of the price range. Great saw but i did find the extraction sleave to the rear got in the way a bit.

I've got the axminster one with the induction motor and I'm so glad I got it - the quiet running makes it worth it on its own, but add to the list that its accurate, the sliding motion is smooth, there is no play at full extension and the braked motor saves lots of time (and annoyance) as you don't have to wait 6 seconds or so for the blade to stop spinning. The cutting capacity is decent but the only negative is that you can't really go much past 46 degrees either way, so for site work where angles aren't going to be perfect you'll need something else.

some time ago, before i got my lump of a 708 i bought a delta 10inch mitre saw. don't use it much, but it is not a bad piece of kit, and i now have a blade for cutting plastics on it, which is great when chopping electrical cable stuff. as a thought, anyone got an idea about a blade suitable for cutting plastic/acrylic which i can put on my 744 table saw??? or even for my ksp 40 mafell circular saw. looking to cut up some acrylic for safety fences etc. paul

I have had a similar dewalt for about 5 years and it has been solid and reliable unlike the dewalt routers that keep blowing up.

I went for the DW 777 in the end with two blades for £270.
