Some mushrooms turned from fresh green stock out of the garden, and some smaller ones from dry stock. The green turning - from lathe into newspaper, then into a box to dry out slowly for a few weeks. Changed the paper after about 3 days. Some Rhus Lancea pieces This is after the first cut (just check those long shavings!) This is now after the second cut, quality control check. Used a fine brittle steel brush on the bark to get rid of any loose pieces. No sanding done at this point, sanding will be done when dry, back on the lathe. Ready for wrapping and drying ............. Sanded on the lathe, centre point hole from tailstock plugged with wood filler, and the base trimmed off to a flat surface. Ready for Danish oil, 4 coats Completed "green" turned Rhus, oiled. Some variegated privet turned green. Some dry Rhus.
