Are they easy to look after Mel? Do they cost a lot to run? We get through loads of eggs, I quite fancy getting all "good life" and getting a couple of chickens.

We get through loads of eggs, I quite fancy getting all "good life" and getting a couple of chickens. rgds Stu update got my chickens last night ;D feel a bit like a big kid stu when i was thinking about keeping them again , i came across this website when i was looking for "point of lay birds" www.chat.allotment.org.uk/index.phpchickens { 19 weeks old } £4.25 ea large bag food £7.50 ive got a couple of farmer friends who might be able to save me money there i'll see how long the food last's . they dont start to lay until they are around 26 weeks old and need at least 15 hours of light . so a small low wattage economy bulb will be put in the coop to give them the light they need as long as they have plenty of food and water they will be ok . ill have to see how the dog takes to them yet mailee / jase you know you are welcome to breakfast anytime the coop is only 4x4x4 raised off the ground by 8" ill get some more photos when i get a chance
