Does anyone know if there is a reg for the distance a cooker extractor outlet needs to be from a boundery/party wall ?

the answer is yes, but not sure what they come under. maybe an hvac man will know, but it is something about 600-1000 mm i think and a particular size, plus it must go out horizontal i seem to remember. although at the end you need a hood or diffuser, to ensure nothing drops down and lands in the cooker paul

Not sure about regs, but mine and my neighbours are about 6 inches apart. It's pretty much up against the wall on the inside. (15 year old semi)

Don't think there are any regs about the outlet as it's not a hazard in any way (except for smell of chip fat). The regs are all about the inside - ventilation requirements of kitchens/bathrooms etc which don't have adequate opening lights.
On the other hand if it was a balanced-flue gas appliance outlet there are regs for obvious reasons.
