External door, opening outwards and your outside. Client said "I'm right handed so handle on the right please". I find, as I'm also right handed that I prefer the handle to the left, but still using my right hand to open the door.
Is this the same for others?

right hand handle opening out means that your body is covered by the door as you do so, whereas with the left hand opening, you are able to open the door and still carry things in your hands. other thing is of course, in my experience, if you put the handle other than where it is expected, people will stuff up the door by trying to open it the wrong way had that happen when someone pulled on a bi fold door ;D paul

What about going from the inside out then? Whichever side you put the handle it will only be right 50% of the time. Surely the choice of which is the hanging stile is more to do with the position of the door relative to what's near it, both on the outside and the inside? In case of doubt, just make a pair of french doors....

Hinged where its most solid handle opposite. I use the most appropriate hand to open a door. In the scenario you describe I am right handed but would use my left going in and my right exiting.
