Hi all does anyone know of a supplier of M3 machine screws in at least 65mm length. I can only find them in shorter lengths. They are for back to back fixing of some door handles the ones supplied only allow for 44mm doors whereas the doors they are going on are 58mm thick. I could just screw them on but the doors are fully sliding and the handle will be used alot to pull all the doors together so i would prefer to use the back to back fixings.

If you can go to 4mm, you could try www.A2A4.co.uk - they do 60mm long socket head csk m/c screws, and you'd need some m4 case nuts to match, which are available in several different lengths, allowing you to get the 65mm you need. You could try giving the guy a ring - he's very helpful and may have some stock that's not shown on the web site. I've just fitted some handles made by Urfic ( www.urfic.co.uk ) - the screw heads showed signs of rust so they sent me some replacements - m4 x 55mm long with case screws exactly as shown above, so it might be worth getting in touch with them if A2A4 can't help.

I looked for clerkenwell screws but couldnt find a website and there a bit far away from me to pop in and see them. The suggestion by steve sounds ideal will just have to check if i can drill and countersink the rose to take the M4 bolts. Thanks Jon

Why not sink the screw heads by 58-44 = 14mm? unfortunately its impossible to countersink the screws as there is about a 10mm air gap through the metal door rose to the timber. Thanks for the info paul i will keep it on file . I have ordered some m4 fittings from the web so i should get it sorted when they arrive.
