Just had a call from a builder i do some work for asking me to make him some concaved doors , these will be full size doors and probably out of oak so i'm thinking laminating is out and steaming would mark the oak plus maybe cause problems with the doors going out of wind with the moisture change . Anyone ever done any of these ?

Why do you say laminating is out? The rails can be laminated up over a former using epoxy and the panels can either be coopered or again laminated from skinply with flexi veneer on the faces. Excuse to by a vacuum press if you don't have one.
Are these internal or ecternal?

I say laminating is out because i have the feeling they want solid timber and willing to pay for it , i will know more tomorrow .

You can laminate and not show glue lines Jason, well at least to the untrained eye and it's still solid timber anyway.

Jason,
You could laminate in solid then veneer over the face in the same timber........ so you won't see stripy laminates.
