Ok people, any ideas what I can do with loads of approx 400x2400mm and smaller 9mm MDF off cuts. I've loads of 18m mdf offcuts too although not quite that size but plenty of them.
In fact if anyone wants any feel free to get in touch

Right sort of width for making one-off guitar templates, but I suppose it's just me that makes a stupid amount of those You could always send some to niki and see what he comes up with. ;D

Glue two pieces together and you'll have more 18mm or whatever thickness you want.

Cut them into 100mm squares and every site you go on glue them to the bottom of the tea cups . Then when someone puts a cup of tea on your mdf work it wont leave a mark ;D

I went for years keeping boards and finally cleared them all out a few weeks ago so i can actually get in that shed ( yes i have a secret shed no one has seen ) It cost nearly £100 at the dump to get rid of boards that where fine but moisture had got to them . I now pay the bin men to take them weekly . Just look at it as rubbish and it doesnt hurt ..... untill you need a bit for yourself and have to buy a sheet

Have you considered Ebay? Lots like this do appear quite frequently. Of course that means they are kicking around your workshop whilst the auction is in progress and there's obviously no guarantee that it will sell, but quite a few do.
I've seen quite a few mixed lots of hardwood that are described as being 'offcuts from a joinery business' sold there too - some selling for quite a bit more than one might expect, especially considering postage costs. Even quite small pieces seem to sell - presumably for boxes, knives etc.

Seems such a shame to dump stuff. Burn it - if there's enough it could be worth getting a woodburner. Mine does all my waste including sawdust, cardboard, mdf, u name it. Or use it - make up some stuff for sale. Reclaimed timber is dead trendy - see: www.pietheineek.nl/en/collection/scrapwoodThe 'eek' is the noise you make when you check his prices! cheers Jacob

Breaks my heart to throw it away, like I said its such a waste and I dont have a wood burner. Problem is I just cant use it at the moment, and I'm in a temporary workshop which I am going to have to move out of pretty soon. I'm going to generate loads more of the stuff in the next 4 weeks too.
I cant think of anything to make/sell with 9mm MDF or I might spend some time on it to generate some beer tokens. I might chuck a load on Ebay 99p no reserve to see what happens.
Failing that I will have to put on some effort to chop it all up and put it in the bins.

All my offcuts adn sawdust goes in a big wheely bin. The local waste contractor then takes the contents away and composts them.

Hi Sainty...where are you located?
They'd be ideal for going on top of a load of stud partitions I'm making...stick out on either side..ideal to screw the ceiling plasterboard to on either side of the partition.

I wonder if he has assistants to do the donkey work's?

I'm just outside Southampton thatsnotafestool. I'm not sure that I have enough for what you want at the moment but give it a few weeks and I might. Let me know how much you need and I'll see if I've got it.

I love the idea of recycling into furniture or something useful, the only thing that I can think of is floating/alcove shelves, but I've got to go about marketing/selling/distributing them which is something that I don't have the time for at the moment. Also after playing with a lock mitre bit and some mdf with out using a mask (yeah what an idiot, I know) I am now suffering the consequences and the thought of machining up more MDF than I have to doesn't thrill me!!!
