Hi all.
Had a request for a basement window. But it is to cover a hole like the beer cellar opening.
I recon i can only pitch it to about 20deg. any ideas how the profile should be to prevent water leaking in.
any thoughts would be helpfull.

Well it's more of a skylight than a window. This means the glass (or top pane if DG) bottom edge has to project over the frame, with no rebate, to allow water run off. Have a look at a Velux skylight - or fit one for that matter and save a lot of f.ing about.

I made one like this a while ago , velux wasnt allowed as the building was listed . I copied the old one , the opener sat over the frame with three rebates for the glass and the bottom left open to allow water to run off . I held the glass at the bottom with metal feet screwed to the stiles .

Thanks guys...
I thought that about the glass, just like old cold frame glass.
Do you think that (like a storm section) that the water will run off the frame setion, the glass doesent seem to be a problem as you say, just the egress of water between the frame.
Any benifit of fitting weather seal into the frame to help channel the water.

No it's a completely different design from a window. As Jason says the opener sits on top of the frame. Infact projecting over the edge like a cold frame on a box.
