I have been slowly working through the videos featuring Sam Maloof on this link:

Fascinating viewing especially his freehand technique on the bandsaw - which he does not recommend for others.
Still going strong at 92, working a 60hr week. He has 10 years worth of orders (he reckons it keeps him alive) and his Rockers sell for $25k!
Apart from a few pieces of machinery his main tools are a Surform and a few rasps. He reckons you do not need fancy tools to do a good job!
The videos are about 24 mins long and there are 13 of them but full of well learned advice and humour.
